Roof Information Dataset for CV-Based Photovoltaic Potential Assessment
This dataset and code help urban planners and energy analysts assess the photovoltaic (PV) potential of buildings. It takes satellite imagery and vector data of roofs as input and generates detailed masks of roof superstructures and segments. The output is a comprehensive evaluation of a roof's suitability for solar panel installation, which is useful for city-wide renewable energy planning.
Use this if you need to automatically identify and analyze roof characteristics from aerial imagery to determine where solar panels can be effectively installed.
Not ideal if you are looking for a simple, out-of-the-box application for individual property owners to assess their own roof's solar potential.
