GSV-Cities: a large-scale dataset for visual place recognition
This project provides a massive collection of street-level images from cities worldwide, enabling engineers and researchers to build and test systems that can accurately identify real-world locations from photos. It includes over half a million images, each meticulously tagged with its precise geographic coordinates and other metadata. The output is a highly optimized model that can quickly and accurately recognize specific places, even with varying conditions like time of year.

Use this if you are developing or evaluating computer vision models for robot navigation, autonomous vehicles, or augmented reality applications that need to recognize specific outdoor locations.
Not ideal if you need a dataset focused on indoor localization or object recognition rather than broad outdoor place recognition.
