Automated pipeline for large scale detection of solar arrays in France
This tool helps urban planners, energy analysts, and researchers automatically identify and map rooftop solar panel installations across France from aerial imagery. It takes in satellite images from IGN and topographical data, then outputs geolocated .geojson files detailing the location, size, and characteristics of photovoltaic (PV) systems. This enables large-scale monitoring and analysis of solar energy adoption.
Use this if you need to accurately map and characterize rooftop solar panel installations in France from overhead images to understand solar energy deployment.
Not ideal if you need to identify solar panels outside of France or if you require real-time detection, as it is designed for large-scale, automated batch processing.
