Automatic detection of impervious surfaces
This project helps urban planners, environmental analysts, and municipal authorities automatically identify paved surfaces from aerial imagery. It takes standard RGB and near-infrared digital orthophotos (DOPs) from a Web Map Service (WMS) and outputs detailed maps of impervious surfaces, aggregated by land-use specific areas. This allows for efficient assessment of land sealing without manual surveys.
