In this project I built an algorithm that could automatically remove the background from a selfie. For that, I used the U-net architecture.
This app helps you instantly remove the background from a selfie image, ideal for updating your profile picture or creating fun edits. You upload a selfie, and the app outputs the same image with a transparent background, ready for you to place yourself into a new scene. It's designed for anyone who wants to quickly and easily isolate themselves from their picture's backdrop.

Not ideal if your image contains multiple people, full-body shots, or if the subject is far from the camera.
