Team of four CSUF seniors creating an innovative 'Automatic Waste Sorter' that utilizes advanced technology to sort waste accurately and efficiently. The system's core is driven by a Google Coral Dev Board, with additional peripherals such as an Arduino, stepper motors, proximity sensors, a webcam, and object detection (machine learning).
This project offers an automated system to sort waste into recycling, composting, and general trash. It takes in mixed waste items, visually identifies them using a webcam and object detection, and then physically sorts them into the correct bins. This is designed for anyone managing waste streams who wants to automate and improve the accuracy of their sorting processes.
