UC3M License Plate detection and recognition dataset
This dataset provides a vast collection of images with annotated Spanish license plates, useful for building and testing systems that automatically detect and read vehicle license plates. It takes in images of vehicles and outputs precise locations and transcriptions of license plates. This is ideal for researchers and engineers developing smart city applications, traffic monitoring, or security systems.
Use this if you are developing or evaluating algorithms for automated license plate detection, localization, character segmentation, or optical character recognition specifically for European (Spanish) license plates.
Not ideal if your focus is on license plates from other regions or if you do not require a dataset with detailed Spanish license plate variations and lighting conditions.
