Monocle is a framework for tracing GenAI app code. This repo contains implementation of Monocle for GenAI apps written in Python.
Monocle helps developers and platform engineers building or managing Generative AI applications understand how their code is performing in production. It makes it easy to add instrumentation to your Python application code to capture detailed traces, which can then be sent to your existing cloud observability tools. This helps you monitor and debug the flow of information through your GenAI app, from user input to model responses.
Use this if you are developing or operating GenAI applications and need a consistent way to monitor their behavior and troubleshoot issues in production environments.
Not ideal if you are not working with Generative AI applications or do not require detailed code-level tracing for your existing observability stack.
