Official code for the ACL 2024 paper: Chat Vector: A Simple Approach to Equip LLMs with Instruction Following and Model Alignment in New Languages.
This project helps machine learning engineers and researchers adapt large language models (LLMs) to follow instructions and align with new languages. It takes an existing base LLM and a specialized 'chat' version of that model, then extracts a 'chat vector' to imbue the base model with conversational capabilities. This allows the creation of LLMs that understand and respond to prompts effectively in various languages.
