AI-sandbox/gnomix
A fast, scalable, and accurate local ancestry method.
This project helps geneticists and genomics researchers determine the ancestral origins of specific segments within an individual's DNA. You provide phased genomic data and either pre-trained ancestry models or reference populations, and it outputs a detailed breakdown of ancestry across the genome. This is designed for scientists analyzing human genetic variation.
109 stars. Available on PyPI.
Use this if you need to precisely map the local ancestry of individuals for genetic studies, disease research, or population genomics.
Not ideal if you need whole-genome ancestry estimates without fine-scale resolution, or if your genomic data is not phased or lacks sufficient common genetic markers (SNPs).
