PortPy-Project/PortPy
Opensource Python project for cancer radiation treatment planning [AAPM'23]
This tool helps medical physicists and radiation oncologists develop and test new strategies for cancer radiation treatment planning. It takes patient anatomy data and desired treatment outcomes, then applies advanced mathematical optimization to determine the optimal radiation beam parameters. The output is a highly customized radiation therapy plan designed to maximize tumor damage while protecting healthy tissue.
174 stars. Available on PyPI.
Use this if you are a researcher or practitioner focused on optimizing radiation dosage and delivery techniques for cancer patients.
Not ideal if you need a clinical system for immediate patient treatment planning rather than a research and development platform.
