WaterFutures/water-futures-battle
Part of the Battle of Water Networks competition series | WDSA/CCWI 2026, May 18-21, Paphos, Cyprus. Design & operate water distribution systems under deep uncertainty, featuring staged interventions, AI & policymaking.
This project helps water utility managers, urban planners, and engineers design and manage urban water distribution systems to cope with future challenges like climate change and population growth. It provides a competitive environment to test strategies for adapting water networks over time, where participants submit system designs and operational plans. The outcome is a better understanding of robust strategies for long-term water infrastructure resilience.
Available on PyPI.
Use this if you are a water professional or researcher interested in developing and evaluating innovative, long-term strategies for urban water infrastructure under conditions of significant uncertainty.
Not ideal if you are looking for an immediate, deployable software tool for real-time water network management rather than a framework for strategic design and operational planning.
