WildlifeDatasets: An open-source toolkit for animal re-identification
This toolkit helps wildlife researchers and conservationists efficiently manage and analyze collections of animal images or videos. It takes in visual data of animals and helps identify individual animals within new, unlabeled footage or classify individuals in existing labeled databases. The primary users are researchers, conservation biologists, and ecological monitoring teams who work with visual animal tracking data.
164 stars. Available on PyPI.
Use this if you need to identify individual animals across many images or videos to track populations, monitor behavior, or study specific individuals.
Not ideal if you are looking for a tool to identify animal species rather than individual animals within a species.
