Building a tagging system for UK charities
This project helps charity researchers, policymakers, and grantmakers understand the activities of UK charities by providing a standardized classification system. It takes raw charity data from official registers and assigns detailed activity tags using two classification schemes: UK-CAT and ICNP/TSO. The output is categorized data, allowing for clearer analysis of the charitable sector.
Use this if you need to analyze the activities of UK charities at scale, understand sector trends, or identify specific types of organizations for research, funding, or policy development.
Not ideal if you need a classification system for charities outside the UK or require real-time, dynamic tagging of newly registered charities.
