code2k13/starrem2k13
Open-source tool for removing stars from deep sky images.
This tool helps deep-sky astrophotographers clean up their images by removing distracting stars. You provide it with an astronomical image containing stars, and it outputs a new version of that image with the stars largely removed. It's ideal for anyone who wants to highlight nebulae, galaxies, or other faint structures without bright stars obscuring the view.

Use this if you are an astrophotographer who wants to remove stars from your deep-sky images to better reveal underlying nebulae or galaxies.
Not ideal if you need to work with specific types of TIFF files, as it may have compatibility issues, or if you require precise star data to remain in your images.
