devCellPy is a Python package designed for hierarchical multilayered classification of cells based on single-cell RNA-sequencing.
This tool helps life scientists automatically classify individual cells from single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data. You provide your scRNA-seq datasets and a defined hierarchy for cell identities (e.g., cell type, developmental stage), and it predicts the identity of each cell at every layer. Researchers in fields like developmental biology or immunology can use this to understand complex cell populations.

Use this if you need an automated and customizable way to assign hierarchical identities to cells based on scRNA-seq data, and you want to understand which genes drive those classifications.
Not ideal if you don't work with single-cell RNA sequencing data or if you need a solution for a Windows operating system.
