This project helps geospatial data practitioners organize and collaborate on developing new standards for searching and cataloging Earth observation assets. It brings together experts from various organizations to collaboratively define specifications, starting with satellite imagery but extending to drones, LiDAR, and other derived data. The output is a set of evolving specifications that improve how geospatial data is discovered and accessed.
Use this if you are a geospatial professional involved in standardizing how Earth observation data is cataloged and searched, or if you want to understand the origins of current SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog (STAC) specifications.
Not ideal if you are looking for software code or tools to process geospatial data, as this repository primarily documents the collaborative process of standards development.
