MCPR enables AI agents to participate in interactive R sessions for professional analysis workflows.
This project helps data analysts and scientists using R to collaborate more effectively with AI agents on complex analytical workflows. It allows an AI agent to run R code, create plots, and inspect the workspace in a persistent R session, just like a human collaborator, preserving all the data and intermediate results. The end-user persona is an R user who wants to leverage AI tools for interactive data exploration, modeling, and validation without losing context between AI commands.
Use this if you are an R user who wants your AI assistant (like Claude, Gemini, or Copilot) to help you with detailed data analysis, scripting, and visualization in a continuous, stateful manner, rather than just executing single, isolated commands.
Not ideal if you primarily use other programming languages for your data analysis or if your AI agent only needs to perform simple, one-off R script executions without maintaining any session state.
